To gaze upon an Akhal-Teke is to witness living history and artistry which transcends over 3,000 years of horse culture, campaigns, wars, and triumphs. As a tribute and record of some of the most influential individuals in the breed since 1870, the Science and Art Museum of Horse Breeding at the Russian State Agrarian University has built an impressive collection of highly-detailed Akhal-Teke art portraits. These portraits show not only the spread of beauty and types within the breed, but their display serves to preserve historical breeding and to inform modern breeding direction—from some of highest performing and commended horses of the last 150 years.
